Description

G9B Multi-Gym

G9B Multi-Station Gym

The G9B is built around an 11-gauge steel frame, the same gauge used in commercial gym equipment. The electrostatic powder coat finish resists chipping, fading, and sweat corrosion over years of daily use. This machine was designed to replace 7 or more individual pieces of equipment without requiring a commercial-sized space.

  • All-Black frame and upholstery for a clean, professional look
  • Dual 210 lb. independent weight stacks, one per cable station
  • 11-gauge high-tensile steel frame built to commercial standards
  • Weight stacks use selectorized pins for fast, tool-free adjustments
  • Both stacks operate completely independently so two people can train at once
Inner Outer Thigh

Inner/Outer Thigh Bundle

The GIOT attachment adds a dedicated inner and outer thigh station to the G9B, turning it into one of the most complete home gym systems available. Most multi-station gyms skip lower body isolation entirely. This bundle fills that gap without requiring a separate machine.

  • GIOTB Attachment: Adds inner and outer thigh isolation training
  • SP50 Stack: A third selectorized weight stack dedicated to the thigh station
  • GAP9 Upgrade: Precision aluminum pulleys for smoother cable travel and reduced friction
  • Adds approximately 60" to the width of the footprint
  • Ideal for users who want full lower body coverage without a separate leg machine
Adjustable Press Arm

Press, Fly, and Row Station

This is the primary upper body station on the G9B. The adjustable press arm moves through multiple positions to target different muscle groups from a single seat. The same station also doubles as a seated row, which is uncommon in this price range.

  • Adjustable press arm supports chest press, incline press, and shoulder press
  • Seat pad adjusts independently for correct positioning across exercises
  • Pec dec arms fold out for chest fly and rear delt fly movements
  • Multi-grip handles on the press arm double as mid-row handles
  • All adjustments are tool-free and take seconds between sets
Leg Press

Leg Press, Extension and Curl

The leg press on the G9B uses a 2:1 mechanical ratio, meaning each pound on the weight stack delivers two pounds of resistance at the footplate. At 210 lbs on the stack, you are pressing against 420 lbs of effective resistance. The pivoting footplate keeps your ankles, knees, and hips in proper alignment throughout the movement.

  • 2:1 ratio delivers up to 420 lbs of effective leg press resistance
  • Pivoting footplate adjusts to natural foot angle for joint safety
  • Adjustable back pad supports proper spinal positioning
  • Leg extension and standing leg curl share the same station
  • Commercial-grade DuraFirm padding holds shape under heavy use
Pulley Stations

High, Mid and Low Pulley Stations

The three pulley stations on the G9B give you access to a wide range of cable movements that would normally require a dedicated cable machine. Cable training is valued for the constant tension it places on the muscle throughout the full range of motion, which free weights cannot replicate.

  • High pulley for lat pulldowns, tricep pushdowns, face pulls, and straight-arm pulldowns
  • Mid pulley for cable crossovers, ab crunches, and rotational exercises
  • Low pulley for seated cable rows, cable curls, and low cable flyes
  • All three pulleys accept standard cable attachments
  • Includes lat bar, low row bar, ankle cuff, and ab/triceps strap out of the box
Warranty

Lifetime Warranty

Body-Solid has offered a lifetime warranty on their equipment since 1989. This is not a limited or conditional warranty. For residential use, every part of the G9B is covered for life with no expiration. For light commercial use, the frame is covered for life and parts are covered for 3 years. This warranty is one of the strongest in the fitness equipment industry and reflects the quality of materials used in production.

  • Residential: Lifetime coverage on all parts with no expiration
  • Light Commercial: Lifetime frame coverage, 3 years on parts
  • Cables: 2,200 lb. aircraft-grade steel cables rated for heavy daily use
  • Body-Solid has honored this warranty consistently since 1989
  • Replacement parts are stocked and available through Body-Solid directly

Body-Solid G9B — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before buying the Body-Solid G9B home gym.

The G9B is the current model. The G9S was the earlier silver-frame version. Body-Solid updated the finish to black and made minor padding improvements with DuraFirm upholstery. That is the full extent of the difference.

Every spec that matters is identical: same dual 210 lb stacks, same 7-station layout, same cable system, same optional add-ons (GKR9, GIOT, GAP), and the same warranty. If you find specs listed under either model number, treat them as interchangeable.

The G9B is built for buyers who want a complete, permanent strength training solution without managing multiple machines or a gym membership.

  • Families: Independent dual stacks let two people train at once with no adjustments between users. Guided stations are safe for teenagers and adults alike.
  • Light commercial facilities: Hotel gyms, corporate wellness rooms, HOA fitness centers, and apartment gyms. The 3-year commercial warranty covers these environments specifically.
  • Home gym owners: Replaces a cable crossover, pec deck, leg press, lat pulldown, and seated row machine in one footprint.
  • Garage gym athletes: Covers all the accessory and isolation work a rack and barbell cannot, including cables, leg curl, pec fly, and rear delt.
  • Lifters transitioning away from free weights: Guided motion stations and adjustable resistance make this a smart long-term investment as training shifts toward controlled, joint-friendly movement.

The G9B covers 50+ exercises across 7 stations, enough to run a complete push/pull/legs split or full-body routine without leaving the machine.

  • Multi-Grip Press Arm: Flat bench press, incline press, shoulder press, and chest-supported mid-row. The biomechanically designed press bar keeps tension on the chest through the full range of motion.
  • Perfect Pec Station: Pec fly, rear delt fly, and seated ab crunch. Fully adjustable swivel arms let you set the exact start and end position of each rep.
  • High Pulley: Lat pulldown (wide, close, underhand), triceps pushdown, straight-arm pulldown, and kneeling ab crunch.
  • Mid Pulley: Seated cable row, standing biceps curl, face pull, and upright row.
  • Low Pulley: Romanian deadlift, cable squat, standing hip extension, and shrug.
  • Leg Press / Calf Press: Full leg press up to 420 lbs via the 2:1 ratio. The pivoting foot plate also accommodates seated calf raises.
  • Leg Developer: Seated leg extension and prone leg curl with the SmoothGlide CAM system, which maintains consistent resistance through the full arc of both movements.

With the optional GKR9 add-on: vertical knee raise, hanging leg raise, and parallel bar dips.

The G9B ships with two independent 210 lb weight stacks. One is dedicated to the upper body cable system, the other to the leg press. Each has its own selector pin so users can change resistance without touching the other side.

The leg press operates on a 2:1 mechanical advantage ratio, meaning the full 210 lb stack registers as 420 lbs of force at the foot plate. Cable stations run 1:1 with the stack. At 210 lbs, most users will not run out of room on exercises like lat pulldowns, cable rows, or triceps pushdowns.

If you eventually need more, Body-Solid offers optional 260 lb upgraded weight stacks that install on the existing frame with no modification required.

Yes, and this is one of the G9B's most practical advantages over single-stack home gyms. The two weight stacks are completely independent, each with its own cable system, selector pin, and station access. Two users can train simultaneously at different resistance levels without any interference.

For example: one person doing lat pulldowns at 120 lbs while another does leg press at 300 lbs. Neither has to wait or adjust the other's settings.

Add the optional GKR9 Vertical Knee Raise/Dip Station and a third person can train at the same time. The GKR9 is a standalone bodyweight station that requires no weight stack, making it a completely independent training position.

The base unit measures 90"L x 73"W x 84"H, roughly 7.5 ft long by 6 ft wide by 7 ft tall. Add at least 2 ft of clearance on all sides for user movement, cable travel, and seat adjustment. The practical minimum room size is approximately 12 ft x 10 ft with 8 ft ceilings.

  • Base unit: 90"L x 73"W x 84"H
  • With GKR9 (VKR/Dip station): 90"L x 104"W x 84"H
  • With GIOT (Inner/Outer Thigh): 90"L x 133"W x 84"H

The GKR9 and GIOT cannot be installed simultaneously. Body-Solid does not recommend swapping between them regularly.

The G9B ships via freight carrier on a pallet, broken into 7 individual boxes. The boxes are sized so two people can move them without equipment, making it manageable without a loading dock.

Total assembled weight is approximately 730 lbs. The heaviest components are the weight stacks, which ship separately from the frame.

Freight delivery is curbside by default. The carrier brings the pallet to the curb but is not responsible for bringing it inside. If you need inside delivery or professional installation, contact us before ordering. We coordinate through our technician network nationwide.

Budget 4 to 8 hours with two people for a first-time build. Body-Solid includes a printed instruction manual and an instructional DVD. The documentation is thorough and hardware is labeled, but the process is involved.

  • Weight stack installation: The stacks are heavy and must be lifted and seated onto guide rods carefully. Two people are required here.
  • Cable routing: Multiple cable runs must be threaded through the correct pulleys in the correct order. This is where most first-time builders slow down. Follow the manual exactly — rushing leads to friction or having to redo it.
  • Frame assembly: Bolts together in sections using standard wrenches and a rubber mallet.

Professional white-glove assembly is available through GymsHQ's nationwide installer network. Contact us for a quote.

The G9B is built to the same specification Body-Solid uses across their commercial product lines. Every material choice is made for longevity under repeated heavy use.

  • Frame: 11-gauge steel throughout. Significantly thicker than the 14- or 16-gauge steel used in consumer-grade home gyms. No flex or wobble under load.
  • Finish: Electrostatically applied powder coat that bonds at a molecular level. Resists chips, scratches, sweat, and corrosion far better than standard painted finishes.
  • Cables: Military-specification aircraft cables with swiveling ends. Rated far beyond the load the machine will ever place on them. Swiveling ends prevent twisting and fraying at attachment points.
  • Pulleys: 4.5" fiberglass-reinforced nylon with stainless steel ball bearings. Smooth and quiet through thousands of reps.
  • Padding: DuraFirm high-density foam with commercial-grade upholstery. Holds its shape over years of use and resists tears from normal wear.
  • Weight guides: Precision-machined plates on chrome-plated guide rods. Plates slide cleanly with no lateral wobble.

Body-Solid backs the G9B with one of the strongest warranties in the home gym category:

  • Residential (in-home) use: Lifetime on the frame, welds, pulleys, cables, and all mechanical components — everything, forever, for the original purchaser
  • Light commercial use: 3 years, covering hotel gyms, corporate fitness rooms, apartment gyms, HOA facilities, and non-dues-paying environments

The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Body-Solid handles claims directly with U.S.-based customer support. Replacement parts are stocked and available.

The G9B ships with a complete attachment set so you can access the full exercise library on day one with no additional purchases required:

  • Lat pulldown bar: Wide grip, for lat pulldowns, straight-arm pulldowns, and triceps pushdowns
  • Low row / straight bar: For seated cable rows, biceps curls, and upright rows from the low pulley
  • Ankle cuff strap: Attaches to the low pulley for cable kickbacks, hip extensions, and leg raises
  • Ab/triceps strap: Rope-style attachment for triceps pushdowns and kneeling ab crunches from the high pulley
  • Workout exercise chart: Wall-mountable reference showing all exercises by station and muscle group
  • Instructional DVD: Covers proper form and technique for each station

Additional attachments like D-handles, EZ-curl bars, or rotating bars are compatible. Standard commercial cable connectors fit the G9B without modification.

Three optional accessories are designed specifically for the G9B frame:

  • GKR9 VKR/Dip Station: Adds vertical knee raise, captain's chair for hanging leg raises, and parallel bar dips. Bodyweight-only station that does not connect to either weight stack. A third user can train here simultaneously with two others on the cables. New footprint: 90"L x 104"W.
  • GIOT Inner/Outer Thigh Attachment: Adds a dedicated abductor and adductor machine that ties into the existing weight stack. Fills the one gap in the G9B's standard lower body coverage. New footprint: 90"L x 133"W.
  • GAP Aluminum Pulley Upgrade Kit: Replaces the standard fiberglass-reinforced nylon pulleys with anodized aluminum. Improves smoothness, reduces friction over time, and upgrades the look. No cable re-routing required.

The GKR9 and GIOT cannot be installed at the same time. Choose one based on your training priorities and available space.

Yes, for light commercial environments. Light commercial covers facilities where access is included with residency, employment, or membership at no additional fitness fee, and where the machine is not subject to open public use throughout the day.

  • Hotel and hospitality fitness rooms
  • Corporate and employee wellness centers
  • Apartment complex and HOA fitness rooms
  • Military recreation and MWR facilities
  • Non-dues-paying civic and community centers
  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation clinics (light use)

The G9B is not rated for open-membership commercial gyms with paid memberships and high daily traffic. For those environments, Body-Solid's EXM commercial series is the appropriate step up. GymsHQ specializes in commercial Body-Solid orders with volume pricing and nationwide professional installation. Request a quote to get started.

The Perfect Pec is Body-Solid's proprietary pec deck station built into the G9B frame. Unlike standard fixed-arm pec deck machines, the Perfect Pec features fully adjustable swivel arms with an independent range-of-motion limiter on each side.

This lets you set the exact starting position of the movement, how far back your arms extend before each rep. It matches your individual shoulder mobility and allows a deeper pre-stretch at the start of each fly for greater muscle activation throughout the movement.

The same station is also used for:

  • Pec fly: Standard bilateral movement, both arms moving simultaneously
  • Unilateral pec fly: One arm at a time for addressing left/right imbalances
  • Rear delt fly: Lean forward and reverse the movement for posterior delt and upper back work
  • Seated ab crunch: Using the cable attachment routed through the mid pulley

Most home gyms at this price point offer a fixed-arm pec deck with no adjustability. The Perfect Pec is a meaningful upgrade for users of different builds.

Yes. The machine is designed to accommodate both ends of the spectrum simultaneously.

For beginners: The guided motion stations, the press arm, leg developer, and Perfect Pec, constrain movement to a biomechanically correct path. This removes the balance and coordination demands of free weights, making it easier to learn proper form safely. The incremental weight selector allows small jumps in resistance as fitness improves.

For experienced lifters: 210 lbs per cable stack covers all accessory and isolation work. The cable stations offer unlimited angles and attachment combinations for advanced programming. The leg press at 420 lbs effective resistance is adequate for the vast majority of users. The dual-stack design means two experienced lifters can run completely separate programs at the same time without waiting or sharing settings.

Adjustable seats and telescoping chrome seat posts accommodate users from roughly 5'0" to 6'4" across all stations.

Yes. Most Body-Solid multi-station gyms ship with a standard 210 lb weight stack, which can be upgraded. The G9B is upgradeable to 260 lb stacks on both sides.

The upgrade is a direct swap. The heavier stacks install on the same guide rods as the original 210 lb stacks with no frame modification required.

Keep in mind the 2:1 leg press ratio — a 210 lb stack delivers 420 lbs of leg press resistance, and upgrading to 260 lbs brings that to 520 lbs. Most users never outgrow the standard stacks, but the upgrade path exists if your strength demands it.
